I was born in Rotterdam (NL) in the year of 1955.

Get them while they're still young, must have been the way my parents were thinking. Music has always taken central stage at our home. As a young man I was allowed to hammer on our piano in any way shape and form I felt fit, although, in those days one would most likely not call this playing.

But after six years of the old school classics and one year of Jazz, from a true jazz veteran, it was unavoidable that the day I turned fifteen I purchased a used Farfisa organ.

Very soon after, together with friends from school, we formed a school band. We played well established songs from the pop- and rock scene, and we have been performing those on many school parties or outings. However, over time my personal interest moved more towards what was then called the symphonic rock. For this reason I started to play, in the mid seventies, in a band from Schiedam (NL) called Irving , playing only music we composed ourselves.

A few years later I shifted my interests more in the direction of jazz rock and fusion, which started to gain momentum. In the late seventies I got drafted by Jada, an excellent six head band from the city of Schiedam , which successfully combined and merged the different styles of jazz rock and fusion together with the more popular pop and rock tunes of those days. We also played our own songs, composed by the band members themselves. Over the years I played on and off in other short lived bands, often with musicians from either Rotterdam or Schiedam . At last, Jada came to an end, but we all moved on for sure, naturally. 

Over the last twenty years I have been playing with many musicians, mostly covering the standards of Pop, Rock, Rhythm & Blues and Rock & Roll, playing just a few gigs with the same people and than moving on to the next.

My lingering wish, to find good musicians, playing songs I would like, was finally fulfilled when came2play, another one night band, was put together. It became apparent, the very evening we played, that this combination of musicians had a lot more to offer than just a band for this particular evening only. It would definitely have been a crying shame and… the end of my dream. As it worked out, came2play turned for me into came2stay, and I love the challenge, the people, and the music, which from the bottom of my fingers, I would recommend anytime, anywhere!
