That unexpected events can lead to good things has certainly been proved in the way this particular band was formed. Some time ago one of the members received a panic call. The panic was understandable; as the band booked for that very evening could not play and had simply cancelled the booking, therefore the plea from the caller whether the person could either find a replacement band or get some musicians together and just create a band for that evening, as the show must go on!

After many, many frantic calls, some experienced musicians accepted without a doubt and as such a one night band was formed with as one goal “save the party”. What’s in the name? Sure, but a band needs one and as you might have guessed already, the name chosen was… came2play, as this was the very reason why the band was formed in the first place.

The performance that evening was extremely well received by the party goers and no one could believe that this band was just created a couple of hours before the party started. Many suggested that the band should definitely stay together, as the vibrations from each of the individual members as well as their music was to good to be just for one night. To be honest, the musicians themselves were also somewhat surprised how well the music went and how well the members seem to get along on and off stage. That very evening came2play was born and has been playing on many parties since, always with that same energy and love for their music that has amazed so many audiences before.

We typically play for small and large company parties, personnel parties, private parties, special corporate entertainment events, dance evenings, pubs or theatres who offer live music or any other type of celebration such as marriages, sporting events, clubs, etc. Since we've started, wherever we perform, we've gotten the same positive reactions from our customers and audiences.

One member of our audience was quoted saying “You guys play with so much energy and enthusiasm. You are bringing the best out of the audience. This has certainly been one of the better live sessions I have been to in a long time. I honestly thought I heard Joe Cocker singing. Cool lady singer, nice voice, etc. etc.”

So, what's our secret? Well, we still love making music together. We have spent a considerable amount of time selecting our songs. We also consciously limit our performances to a maximum of four (4) per month. We do this in order to to avoid becoming a party band which plays on auto-pilot.
