Hi there,

Starting from my seventh birthday or maybe even my seventh month, I have been busy with sticks and drum and played in various marching bands.

Having done those marching bands for several years I got restless and knew I wanted to do more with my feet and decided a full blown drum set was the only solution.
So, at the age of fourteen, I ended up in the band Sophia. A true seventies Rock band with half our own work and half cover songs.
Over time the band changed a few members and with those changes we also modified our playlist.

A few years later I started to take lessons from a drum teacher called Hans Cleuver (Focus) and got the chance to join the large band from the (Dutch) army.

After several years of studying the drums I joined the band from Jan Huisman (Thinner). We did mostly our own songs.

However, when the bass player decided to stop, the band fell apart, but Jan Huisman, Stam and I decided to create a new band called Insanity.

With this band we went up like a balloon. We played as openings act for many famous Dutch artists like De Dijk, Van Dik Hout and the Golden Earrings.

After some negotiations with Hay Kooymans and Gerritsen we went on tour in Holland. Unfortunately half way during the tour we were replaced by Powerplay.
Powerplay was pushed by the record company and Insanity broke up one half year later.

Now I actively play in about seven other bands, giving me the opportunity to play many styles of music.

The B-sides however, has been a totally new challenge for me.
Fantastic people (musicians) and it gives me a great satisfaction to play, as a drummer, a playlist so different as what most other bands would play.
